Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Brightkat apps do with your data. The short version: everything stays on your device, we run no servers, and we don't collect, sell or share personal data. The longer version is below, written to match exactly what the apps do. If anything here doesn't match an app's actual behaviour, treat the app as the mistake and tell us.

01Who we are

Brightkat is an independent app studio and the publisher of PadelScore for iPhone and Apple Watch. For anything related to this policy, the responsible party is Brightkat, reachable at brightkat.app@gmail.com.

02What we collect

Nothing. Brightkat apps have no user accounts, no sign-in, no backend servers and no analytics. We do not receive, store or have access to any information about you or your use of the apps. There is no "we" holding a copy of your data.

03Data the app handles on your device

The app does work with data, all of it on your own devices only. Depending on which features you use, this includes:

All of this is stored in the app's local storage on your iPhone and Apple Watch. It is never transmitted to Brightkat or to any third party.

04Apple Health

PadelScore integrates with Apple Health (HealthKit) for one purpose: treating your padel match as a workout. Health access is optional and requested through the standard system prompt. The app works fully without it.

On iPhone, the app asks for permission to write only. When you finish a match it saves a workout entry to the Health app with the match duration and estimated active energy (calories). The iPhone app does not request permission to read any Health data.

On Apple Watch, the app asks for permission to read two things: your current heart rate, to show it live during the match and to refine the calorie estimate, and your most recent body weight, so you don't have to type it in. These values are read on the Watch, displayed on screen, used for the calorie calculation and, for the heart rate, may be included in the workout summary. They are not stored beyond that and never leave your devices.

We use Health data only to provide these features. We never use it for advertising, marketing, analytics or research, never disclose it to third parties, and never sell it. Health data is not used to make any decisions about you.

You can change or revoke Health permissions at any time: on iPhone in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → PadelScore, and for the Watch app in the Watch app on your iPhone under Privacy → Health, or in Settings on the Watch itself. Revoking access stops future reads and writes; it doesn't affect match history already saved in the app. Workouts already written to Health remain in Health until you delete them there.

05Apple Watch sync and partner sync

Two features move data between devices. Both use Apple's on-device frameworks and neither involves the internet or any server:

06Sharing a result

After a match you can share a result card (winner, set scores and match stats) using the standard iOS share sheet. What you share, and with whom, is entirely your choice. Once you hand it to another app or service, that app's or service's privacy policy applies.

07Voice, microphone and other device features

The Apple Watch app can read the score aloud after each point using the system's on-device text-to-speech. This is optional. The apps do not record audio, do not use the microphone, and do not access your location, contacts, photos or camera.

08What we don't do

No accounts. No sign-in. No advertising and no advertising identifiers. No analytics, tracking or crash-reporting SDKs. No cookies. No third-party SDKs of any kind. No sale, rental or sharing of personal data, because none is collected.

09Deleting your data

Because your data lives only on your devices, you control it completely. Deleting PadelScore from your iPhone and Apple Watch deletes all match data the app stored. There is no copy anywhere else, so there is nothing further to request from us. Workouts already written to Apple Health follow Health's own retention: delete them in the Health app if you want them removed there too.

10Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export personal data that an organisation holds about you, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Since Brightkat holds no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on our side; your data is already in your hands, in the app on your device. If you believe we do hold something, or have any question about privacy, contact us at the address below and we will respond.

11Children

Brightkat apps are not directed at children and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the applicable age in your country), for the reasons above. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12This website

brightkat.app is a static website. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may log the request under Google's own privacy policy. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may process standard technical request data (such as IP address) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

13Changes to this policy

If an app's data practices change in a way that affects this policy, we'll update the effective date below and describe what changed, rather than silently editing the past. Continued use of an app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
